Putin declared readiness for peace: under what conditions Russia wants to end the war.
According to ТСН: The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, stated that Russia is open to dialogue regarding the cessation of the war 'based on the principles laid out in June 2024.'
He also noted that he does not see any 'readiness' on the part of Ukraine to discuss territorial issues.
'They did not want to withdraw troops from Donbas even after the Istanbul negotiations and are now refusing. But we feel that they are ready to engage in some dialogue. The only thing I want to say is that we have always talked about it, we are ready and want to end this conflict by peaceful means based on the principles that I outlined in June last year and by addressing the root causes that led to this crisis,' said Putin.
Let us remind you, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Putin's aggressive rhetoric is not news, but Russia's ability to continue the war directly depends on the pressure from the West.
Commenting on the intentions of the Russian leadership to continue the occupation of Ukrainian territories, Zelenskyy noted that Putin's desire to wage war does not align with his capabilities if the sanctions pressure continues.
The President also confirmed that there are significant arguments from the American side regarding Putin's readiness to end the war both in public and private formats. Ukraine supports this diplomatic initiative, although negotiations are not easy.
This exchange of statements between the leaders of the two countries highlights the complexity of the situation and the volatility of positions in international relations. Dialogue remains important, but the realization of peace requires efforts from both sides and the support of the international community, particularly through sanctions that can influence the actions of the Kremlin.
