The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced a 'truce' during the celebration of 'Victory Day'.
According to a statement on the website of the President of the Russian Federation, the 'truce' will last from May 7 to May 10.
'The Russian side announces a truce. During this period, all hostilities are suspended', - the Kremlin reported.
Russia calls on Ukraine to join this truce.
It should be noted that May 8 is commemorated in Ukraine as the Day of Memory and Victory over Nazism in World War II.
The Kremlin also stated its readiness for peace negotiations without preconditions.
'In case of a breach of the truce, we will provide an adequate and effective response', - it was added in the report.
It is worth noting that previously, Putin had announced a truce during Easter, but shelling continued.
We hope that this truce will indeed lead to the cessation of hostilities and openness for peace negotiations.
