Zelensky on Putin: Russia will not stop at Donbas, its goal is all of Ukraine.
According to ТСН: The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, initiated the conflict not just over Ukrainian Donbas and will not stop at a 'piece of land'.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Portugal in Kyiv.
'He [President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin] wants to decide everything either by himself or with his friends – those like him,'the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that the Russian aggression in Ukraine has much broader dimensions than merely a war for territory.
'Russia will never be satisfied with any piece of our land. If someone gives it something, it will not be satisfied,'he added.
The President emphasized that decisions regarding territorial matters should be made by the Ukrainian people. He also pointed out that the US proposals regarding Donbas, which actually align with Russia's position, do not meet Ukraine's interests.
It should be noted that earlier in the Kremlin, there was an opinion that 'sooner or later' the entire territory of Donbas would come under full control of Russia – 'if not through negotiations, then by military means.'
President Zelensky's statements highlight that the conflict continues on many levels, and the importance of the people's voice in resolving key issues remains a priority. The situation in Donbas remains complicated, and further actions by international partners could significantly impact the development of events.
