Putin is confident he can take full control of four regions of Ukraine - Bloomberg.
Putin's plans regarding Ukraine
The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is confident that his troops will be able to break through Ukraine's defenses by the end of the year to take full control of four regions. This was reported by Bloomberg, as conveyed by 'Glavkom'.
The publication notes that this means the Russian president is unlikely to offer any significant concessions to Trump during the talks between the two leaders, and European officials are concerned that Trump might try to force a settlement in any case.
Analysts believe that European officials are unsure whether Trump will intensify pressure on Russia or simply move on to the next challenge if the negotiations fail. Trump promised to inform Zelensky and some of his NATO allies as soon as he finishes his conversation with his Russian counterpart.
«Despite all the talk about a ceasefire, Putin is prepared for a protracted war if necessary to achieve his goals, and he is optimistic about the prospect of further U.S. sanctions, according to two other individuals close to the Kremlin», Bloomberg notes.
We remind you, today Trump will call the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Trump stated he wants to discuss «putting an end to the bloodshed, which results in an average of over 5000 Russian and Ukrainian servicemen dying each week».
Putin's plans regarding Ukraine provoke serious outrage and considered security measures from European countries and the U.S. The situation in Eastern Europe remains tense, and predicting the further course of events in this region is extremely challenging.
