Putin confirmed the visit of the US delegation to Moscow: key topics of the negotiations.
According to ТСН: Vladimir Putin confirmed that next week an American delegation will arrive in Moscow. He announced this during a press conference.
Key participants in the negotiations
Putin noted that the visit will take place against the backdrop of tense relations and the discussion of important issues, including the situation in Ukraine. He also named the main participants in the negotiation process from Russia:
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA).
Vladimir Medinsky (former head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine).
Yuri Ushakov (assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for international affairs).
Diplomatic efforts
The visit will take place in the context of heightened attention from the international community to efforts to resolve the conflict.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that his special envoy Steve Vitkoff may accompany the delegation, and possibly his son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner.
Discussion of the peace plan
On November 25, Bloomberg published a transcript of a conversation from October 14 between Vitkoff and Ushakov, discussing the preparation of a peace plan. Vitkoff suggested to the Kremlin cooperation and a recommendation for Putin to call Trump before Zelensky's visit, to 'move things forward'. Putin did indeed call Trump and praised him as a 'president of peace'.
Bloomberg also noted that in a conversation on October 29, Ushakov discussed with the representative of the President of the Russian Federation, Kirill Dmitriyev, the strategy for advancing the Russian version of the peace plan, which emphasizes that Moscow's demands became the basis of the 28-point US peace plan.
Thus, the visit of the American delegation to Moscow marks an important step in diplomatic processes aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Given the past negotiations and strategies, the outcomes of this visit may have significant consequences for the further development of the situation.
