Putin stated his readiness to end the war: what conditions he set

According to ТСН: Vladimir Putin stated that Ukraine allegedly refuses to peacefully end the war. According to him, Russia does not observe this.

He voiced this information during his annual 'Year in Review with Vladimir Putin'.

Putin emphasized that Russia allegedly is ready and 'wants' to end the war 'peacefully based on the principles outlined by the President of Russia in the summer of 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation'.

He noted that in the Kremlin, 'they feel and know' about 'some signals' from Ukraine that they are ready for dialogue. However, according to the dictator, Moscow 'still does not see Kyiv's willingness to discuss territorial questions'.

'Russia is ready to end the 'conflict' (as it is often called in the Kremlin - Ed.) in Ukraine if the root causes of the crisis are eliminated,' said Putin.

In addition, Putin voiced the conditions for ending the war in Ukraine. According to him, Kyiv 'did not want to withdraw troops from Donbas' after the Istanbul negotiations and still refuses.

This statement by Putin indicates that the positions of the parties remain unchanged. The Russian leader continues to insist on the fulfillment of his conditions, while Ukraine remains steadfast in its refusal to negotiate in a manner that could threaten its territorial integrity. The situation remains tense, and a resolution to the conflict still seems unlikely.
