Russia is arming the Oreshnik missile: what is known about the new threat.
According to ТСН: The cruise missile 'Oreshnik' is expected to be put on combat duty by the Russian army by the end of this year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the successful tests of 'Burevestnik' and 'Poseidon', stating that these systems 'are already' and will continue to be improved.
Use of 'Oreshnik'
It is worth noting that in November 2024 Russian troops first used the 'Oreshnik' on the territory of Ukraine.
Production and modernization
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Ivashchenko noted that Russia is ramping up serial production of the medium-range ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' and is considering modernization options. This includes enhancing the combat part's effectiveness, particularly in nuclear payloads.
More than 50 enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex are involved in the serial production of the 'Oreshnik' missile. Among them are research institutes and factories, such as the Research Institute of Command Instruments, 'Kalugaprirod', 'Kaluga Electromechanical Plant', and 'Priboy'.
Lukashenko's statement
Recall that the dictator of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko threatened Europe with the 'Oreshnik', calling this missile 'terrible weapon'. He addressed the leaders of Europe and cynically urged them 'not to cause trouble'.
The introduction of the 'Oreshnik' missile into combat duty emphasizes Russia's growing military ambitions, as well as potential security threats in Europe. Lukashenko's statements demonstrate the tension in relations between Belarus and Western countries. These events could affect the military-political situation in the region, and the world is watching the situation with great concern.
