Russia's strike on Ukraine: numerous casualties and destruction

On the night of September 28, Russia launched attacks on various settlements in Ukraine, resulting in over 80 people injured. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that among the victims were four individuals, including one child. Most of the shelling was directed at civilian objects, particularly residential infrastructure. The consequences of the shelling were especially severe in Kyiv, where 32 buildings were destroyed, including the Institute of Cardiology, which saw two fatalities, while the building itself sustained significant damage. Zaporizhzhia also fell victim to an 'extremely harsh' strike, in which a significant number of people were injured. Zelensky emphasized that during the UN General Assembly, Russia continued to strike Ukraine. He urged Europe to increase pressure on Russia through sanctions and presented evidence of Russian tankers using drones against European countries. In addition, the president spoke about consultations with partners and the PURL program being implemented to procure American weapons. It is also worth noting that as a result of the missile strike in Belgorod, there was a complete blackout: the city was left without electricity, water, and communication. The situation in the country remains tense. Attacks on civilian objects threaten the lives of civilians and complicate the humanitarian situation. Ukrainian authorities continue to seek support from the international community to strengthen defense capabilities and ensure citizens' safety.
