Military Recruitment Centers Reform: A New Chapter for Ukraine's Armed Forces

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine is rolling out a major reform of its Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCCs), aiming to strengthen military staffing, boost soldier compensation, tackle unauthorized absence from units, and expand international recruitment. Deputy Defense Minister Vasyl Shkurakov announced the initiative before the Verkhovna Rada, underscoring its significance for the country's defense capabilities. The reform comes as Ukraine continues to adapt its military structures amid the ongoing war with Russia.

In June, the government approved Resolution No. 768, and the Defense Ministry drafted Order No. 222, which was later registered with the Ministry of Justice. These documents lay the groundwork for the reform. Troops deployed on the front lines will receive payments of 170,000 hryvnias. Additionally, soldiers taking part in assault operations can earn between 20,000 and 40,000 hryvnias per day of combat missions.

Key Pillars of the Reform

A state program aimed at reintegrating service members who have gone absent without leave (AWOL) was launched on June 12. According to the plan, full implementation of the TCC reform will follow the completion of three main priorities. Vasyl Shkurakov stated:

Moreover, the Defense Ministry has announced a grant competition to develop humanoid robots, as part of a broader strategy to modernize Ukraine's Armed Forces. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov highlighted ongoing efforts to produce domestically guided aerial bombs.

Shkurakov also stressed the importance of bringing foreign personnel into the military structure, noting:
