The USA and Europe are preparing a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine
The United States and its European allies are preparing a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. US President Donald Trump has called for an unconditional ceasefire and warned of possible additional sanctions if Russia refuses to accept this agreement.
Ukraine has expressed its readiness for the American proposal, while Russia has announced a unilateral three-day ceasefire. According to diplomatic sources, there is a possibility of announcing a 30-day ceasefire or dividing it into stages.
'We do not yet have a fully finalized project, but we hope we are at a moment of convergence,' cited a diplomatic source.
'In the coming hours and days, a ceasefire lasting either 30 days or divided into stages, which is still under discussion, may be announced,' the source added.
Europe and the USA are coordinating possible sanctions and working on achieving consensus. The French Foreign Minister will join President Macron at a meeting in Kyiv to discuss the ceasefire proposal.
Sources emphasize Russia's irresponsibility in these negotiations and the readiness to impose new sanctions in case of refusal. Ukraine hopes for a lasting ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
