Russia is preparing fakes with prisoners from Azovstal: how it will affect exchanges.
Russia is preparing an information campaign against Ukraine
Russia is preparing yet another stage of an information campaign to discredit the authorities of Ukraine and the topic of prisoner exchanges. The enemy is working on creating photos and 'interviews' with the prisoners defending 'Azovstal', whom Moscow is considering for exchange.
This was reported by the on Telegram.
Russia's information operation
The CPD noted that the use of prisoners for propaganda and manipulation violates the key principles of Articles 13 and 14 of the Geneva Convention regarding the treatment of prisoners.
Within this campaign, Moscow has already used fakes with prisoners. In particular, there are false appeals allegedly on behalf of Ukrainian prisoners of war, whom supposedly were excluded from the exchange list at Kyiv's initiative.
'This campaign is part of a larger strategy of Russia aimed at destabilizing the internal situation in Ukraine and disrupting the exchange process in the format of 'everyone for everyone', which Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized. But the Kremlin is blocking this process, using the topic of prisoners for political and informational pressure.'
It should be noted that the CPD has already warned about Russia's intention to continue its information campaign regarding prisoner exchanges to manipulate the process.
Recently, a 13-year-old girl was returned to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territory.
Reports that Russia is preparing an information campaign against Ukraine indicate that the Moscow regime continues to actively use disinformation and manipulation for its political goals, disregarding international standards and conventions.Read also
