Kyiv Region Under Threat

According to TSN.ua: On the night of February 12, Russian forces launched a missile attack on Kyiv, injuring two civilians: a 45-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. This assault is part of a broader escalation of aerial attacks, which continued into February 13 with the detection of hostile drones over the Kyiv region, posing a significant security threat. These attacks are a grim reminder of the ongoing war's impact on civilian life, now entering its third year.

Widespread Damage to Infrastructure

The consequences of the missile strike were severe for the city's infrastructure. Approximately 107,000 households were left without electricity, and heating was cut off to 2,600 buildings. Air defense forces remain active in response to the continuing aerial threats, working to protect the civilian population. The situation is currently under control, with emergency services actively addressing the challenges. Drone activity has been tracked approaching from multiple directions:

  • From the west of Chernihiv region toward the Kyiv Reservoir,
  • From the north toward Sumy and Kharkiv,
  • On a northwestern trajectory over Kyiv region heading toward Zhytomyr region.

Given the increase in hostile drone and missile activity, the safety of civilians in the Kyiv region remains at serious risk. The response of air defense forces is critical to preventing further attacks and protecting vital infrastructure. These events underscore the persistent nature of the conflict and the continued need for international support to bolster Ukraine's defensive capabilities.
