According to TSN.ua: On March 6, 2023, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 23 attack drones, but the assault still resulted in three people, including a child, being wounded. The strikes caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, impacting approximately 30 residential buildings, four educational institutions, and a key infrastructure site.

Details of the attack on Kryvyi Rih reveal the extent of the damage to local infrastructure. According to Oleksandr Ganzha, the following were damaged:

  • Apartment buildings
  • A lyceum (high school)
  • An industrial enterprise
  • An infrastructure facility

Oleksandr Vilkul provided a preliminary assessment, listing the affected structures:

  • Around 30 residential buildings
  • Four educational facilities
  • An infrastructure and business object
  • A private enterprise

Continued Aggression Across the Region

The assault on Dnipropetrovsk region was not confined to Kryvyi Rih; the communities of Nikopol, Myrivska, and Pokrovska were also hit. These events are part of Russia's ongoing campaign of aggression, which continues to threaten civilians and destroy the region's housing and social infrastructure. While there were no fatalities in this attack, sparing many lives, the consequences for the city are severe. This industrial city, the birthplace of President Zelenskyy, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.

The damage to infrastructure and educational institutions creates additional hardships for local residents already suffering from the war's consequences. The successful work of Ukrainian defense forces in destroying a significant number of drones demonstrates their ability to respond to threats, yet the risks to the civilian population remain critically high.
