The Situation in Ukraine

According to UATV: Russian military attacks on the regions of Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Kherson have resulted in significant civilian casualties, including children, and extensive damage to civilian infrastructure. These assaults are part of a wider pattern of strikes on populated areas.

Events of February 10, 2023

On February 10, 2023, four people, including two children, were wounded in Sumy after Russian forces shelled 21 settlements in the region. In Donetsk, a child was killed by shelling, and in the city of Sloviansk, an 11-year-old girl and her mother died. In Kharkiv, six people were reported injured, three of whom were children aged 3 and 6.

Furthermore, in Odesa, Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure, leaving parts of the region without power.

Oleh Kiper reported that 'settlements were partially left without electricity.'
In Kherson, eight people were wounded, one of them a child. Overall, on the night of February 10, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 125 strike drones.

Oleh Syniehubov noted that 'Russian troops actively used drones,' indicating an escalation of violence in regions already heavily impacted by the war.
These events underscore the severe challenges faced by civilians in the conflict.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense as attacks on civilian targets and residential areas persist. The increasing use of drones marks a tactical shift by Russian forces in the ongoing war. Damage to critical infrastructure, particularly energy systems, threatens the population's basic needs and worsens the humanitarian crisis in affected areas.
