Russia has established two new military bases in occupied Mariupol - Andriushchenko.
The number of Russian military bases in Mariupol has increased. According to information from the 'Gromadske', two new bases appeared during March-April. One of them is located in the Kalmius district, and the other one is in the Left Bank district.
According to Petro Andriushchenko, the new bases have different tasks compared to the existing ones. They are used for parking military equipment and personnel. The strengthening of the Russian military presence in Mariupol began at the beginning of the year and indicates the transformation of the city into a logistical-military foothold for Russian troops, notes Andriushchenko.
It is also worth noting that the occupiers intend to create an entertainment center on the site of the 'Azovstal' factory. The plans include the construction of museums, hotels, shops, and recreation areas. The cost of the project is estimated at 100 billion rubles.
Thus, the Russians continue to strengthen their military presence in Mariupol by building new bases and developing infrastructure. This may have negative consequences for Ukraine and threaten security in the region.
