Russia creates dead zones: how 200 energy facilities in Ukraine are being protected.
According to inkorr.com: The head of the State Agency for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, reported that Russia is trying to create 'dead zones' at a distance of 50-100 km from the front line. This, in turn, requires special protection for over 200 energy facilities in frontline regions.
To protect energy facilities from enemy missiles and drones, the State Agency has amended the legislation on procurement procedures. This will allow for faster procurement of necessary materials and services.
“A few days ago, we received a message from Kyiv about the allocation of UAH 2.1 billion for the construction of protection for strategic facilities. There was no money, there is none, and in the future, most likely, there will be none,” said the head of the agency.
Sukhomlyn also noted that work on providing protection at the 330 kV and 750 kV substations is already 95-98% complete, which is significantly better than in 2024. All substations that have been equipped with protection from the State Agency can withstand enemy attacks and continue to function normally.
Infrastructure substations in Ukraine have received fortifications and protection from potential threats, ensuring the reliability of their operation and protection from enemy attacks.
These steps are important in the context of increasing threats from Russia and also demonstrate Ukraine's commitment to strengthening its energy infrastructure. The efforts of the State Agency on this front play a key role in ensuring stability and security in the energy sector, which is particularly relevant amid modern challenges.
