Russia openly stated: it will start a war with NATO in the next decade.
The Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belyusov stated that Russia must be prepared for any developments, including a possible war with NATO in the coming decades. He announced this at an expanded meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“This is affirmed by the decisions made at the North Atlantic Alliance summit held in July this year. It is also confirmed in the doctrinal documents of the USA and other NATO countries,” Belyusov stated.
Additionally, the Russian Defense Minister noted that the Russian military will receive significantly more tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and armored personnel carriers, as well as drones from 2022 onwards. Compared to 2022, the number of tanks will increase sevenfold, infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers will triple, and drones will double.
The defense spending level is 6.3% of GDP, which accounts for 32.5% of the federal budget, Belyusov reported.
It is worth noting that if a third world war starts, Russia may attempt to attack NATO's eastern flank, where the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) and Finland are located. This is mentioned in a study by Newsweek magazine.
Moreover, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin increasingly talks about nuclear war, aiming to incite panic in the global community and force Ukrainians to surrender.
