Russia modernized aerial bombs: range increased to 200 km.
Russia is modernizing aerial bombs
According to inkorr.com: Vadym Skibitskyi, the deputy head of the GUR, reported that Russia has improved the production of aerial bombs by implementing new unified control modules. These innovations have significantly increased their range. According to Skibitskyi, the modules are already being tested in combat conditions after being developed in September-October.
Today, aerial bombs equipped with these modules can hit targets at distances of 150 to 200 km and have shown increased resistance to electronic countermeasures. Moreover, their technical characteristics allow them to strike targets at even greater distances.
“The first such strikes we saw in Dnipro, now we see them in other cities – this is precisely the approach that the Russian Federation is applying”
It should also be noted that on October 20, Russian troops first used a modernized guided aerial bomb at a distance of about 120 km from Poltava. These bombs are equipped with a jet engine, which significantly increases their range. To effectively counter them, not only the bombs themselves but also their carriers must be destroyed.
Conclusions
Therefore, it can be confirmed that Russia is actively improving its military technology, particularly aerial bombs with new unified control modules. This may significantly affect the situation in the region and require adequate measures from Ukraine.
