Attacks Target Sumy and Kherson Regions

According to UATV: Russian military forces carried out 44 attacks on settlements in Sumy Oblast over a 24-hour period, leaving one person wounded. The situation in Kherson Oblast was even more severe, where shelling killed one person and injured nine others. These assaults are part of a continued pattern of attacks on civilian areas far from the front lines.

Among the victims in Kherson was a 74-year-old woman who sustained severe injuries in a drone attack. As reported by local official Oleksandr Prokudin,

"At approximately 09:40, a 74-year-old woman suffered severe injuries due to a Russian drone attack. Despite medics' attempts to save her life, the victim died in the hospital from her wounds."

Infrastructure Damage

In Kherson Oblast, the attacks also damaged:

  • 6 apartment buildings
  • 14 private houses

Overnight on March 10, Russian strikes also hit Dnipro, its surrounding region, and Kharkiv. In one incident in Dnipro, a drone struck a residential high-rise, injuring 10 people, including a 12-year-old boy. The situation remains tense, with the civilian population continuing to face threats from the aggressor's attacks.

The escalation of hostilities in Sumy and Kherson Oblasts underscores the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, where frequent attacks on civilian targets endanger the lives of non-combatants. The use of drones and artillery in these regions highlights the dire humanitarian situation, which demands urgent attention from both local and international organizations. Protecting civilians and critical infrastructure remains a paramount concern amid the continuing warfare.
