January 22, 2023 Attack on Kryvyi Rih

According to UATV: On January 22, 2023, Russian occupying forces launched a combined assault on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, injuring 11 people, three of whom were children. The attacks, which included the use of 'Shahed' drones, continued throughout the day. Kryvyi Rih, a major industrial hub in central Ukraine, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.

According to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, eight people were hospitalized, including an 18-month-old boy. Two other injured children, who sustained moderately severe wounds, were transferred to a children's hospital for specialized care.

Scale and Aftermath of the Assault

The assault lasted approximately 10 hours, with a follow-up attack using 'Shahed' drones occurring around 4:00 PM. The strikes left roughly 10,000 residents without electricity. In the early hours of January 22, Ukrainian forces reported intercepting 94 attack drones, including models like 'Shahed' and 'Gerbera'.

This incident underscores the ongoing aggression by Russian forces, which directly impacts the civilian population of Ukraine.

The attack on Kryvyi Rih, which resulted in child casualties, raises serious concerns about the safety of non-combatants. The damage to the city's critical infrastructure further complicates recovery efforts and the provision of essential services to its residents.
