Russian Strikes Hit Dnipro, Injuring Four Including a Newborn and a Child.
Intensified Assault on Dnipro
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces launched a concentrated attack on the city of Dnipro overnight on February 12-13, 2023, wounding four civilians, two of whom were children. The assault caused significant damage to private homes and vehicles. The youngest victim is a baby boy named Damir, who is less than a month old. Among the other injured is a four-year-old girl named Angelina. These strikes are part of a broader pattern of attacks on Ukrainian cities that have escalated since the full-scale invasion began nearly a year prior.
Consequences of the Attack
The attack also struck a critical energy infrastructure facility, leading to disruptions in electricity and water supply for the city. The father of the injured children provided an update on their condition:
“The boy is now in intensive care with his mother. Their condition is stable, and doctors are providing all necessary assistance. Our older daughter, four-year-old Angelina, has already been discharged from the hospital.” - Father of the injured children
This incident underscores the persistent danger faced by Dnipro's residents and the urgent need to protect civilian infrastructure. Recovery efforts in the affected areas are ongoing, but the psychological and physical scars of such attacks run deep for the local community. The situation remains tense, as each day brings new challenges for those trying to rebuild their lives amid the ongoing war.
