Russians receive one of the main means of terror from North Korea against Ukrainians.
Russia receives ballistic missiles KN23 from North Korea, which are used to terrorize the civilian population. They have been employed by the Russians against residential buildings, including a high-rise in Kyiv, where four people died in January this year. This was reported by Andriy Yermak, head of the President's Office.
These ballistic missiles have Western components, and we constantly inform our partners about this. Currently, North Korea has transferred 100 missiles and will continue to do so. With these missiles, Russia is killing Ukrainians, and North Korea is refining their efficiency for potential use on the Korean Peninsula in the future, just as the knowledge gained by North Korean military personnel on the front line.
Andriy Yermak emphasized the necessity of an active response from democracies to this situation, as all conditions are being created for the possible use of Iranian, Russian, and North Korean weapons against the democratic world.
The head of the President's Office called for enhanced control over exports and the introduction of sanctions against this.
In October and November, North Korea transferred 100 short-range ballistic missiles of the Kn-23/24 type to Russia, as well as over 5 million shells.
Earlier, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported on military cooperation between Russia and North Korea during a meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol. Both sides discussed a joint response to new security threats and strengthening cooperation with the United States.
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol stated that he does not rule out the possibility of providing weapons to Ukraine. He noted that although the country has a policy of not supplying arms to warring nations, the situation may change due to North Korea's activities. In the case of providing assistance, South Korea will first supply defensive weapons.
South Korea is also considering various scenarios for supporting Ukraine in the context of North Korean troops' presence in Russia.
