Russians struck the Cabinet with Iskander: how the missile bypassed air defense.
Russia struck the Cabinet of Ministers with an 'Iskander' missile
According to inkorr.com: Katarina Maternova, the ambassador of the European Union, reported that Russian forces attacked the building of the Cabinet with a ballistic missile 'Iskander'.
“Putin knows exactly what he's doing. The missile was aimed straight at the heart of the Ukrainian government”, - emphasized Maternova.
According to information from Defense Express, a detailed analysis of the fragments confirms that the strike on the Cabinet was made by a 9M727 missile from the 'Iskander' complex, and not by a drone. The explosive charge of the missile did not detonate, and the fire was caused by a fuel flash from its tanks.
This attack was the first on the Cabinet since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Fortunately, no government personnel were harmed, and rescuers are actively working to eliminate the aftermath of the incident and provide assistance.
The damaged building of the Cabinet, as well as the need to evacuate people from the rubble, highlight the importance of continuous monitoring of the situation and readiness to act in extreme conditions.
This incident demonstrates the growing risk of attacks on key state institutions of Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict. Despite the lack of casualties among officials, similar strikes can have serious consequences for the governance of the country in such a critical time.
