Russians attacked DTEK factory: new crisis threatens Ukraine's energy system.
According to inkorr.com: This morning, Russian military forces struck a DTEK enrichment factory in the Donetsk region. This led to significant damage to the facility, resulting in its complete shutdown. This was reported by
Glavcomreferencing information from DTEK.
Preliminary data indicates that the shelling caused severe destruction to the factory building and damage to technological equipment. It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on this factory, which is crucial for supplying coal to Ukrainian power plants.
- Following the attack, the factory's operations have been completely halted.
- The enrichment facilities at the factory are currently not operational.
We also remind you that on September 1, a Russian drone attacked a DTEK energy brigade during emergency repairs in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This information was confirmed in a DTEK statement.
“In Dnipropetrovsk region, a DTEK emergency team 'Dniprovsky Electric Networks' was attacked by an enemy drone while conducting work to restore a damaged power line in the frontline zone. At 5:55 PM, the drone hit a service vehicle of energy workers. As a result of the explosion, the vehicle was completely burned along with equipment and materials for restoration works,” the statement said.
Fortunately, the workers were not injured as they managed to exit the vehicle before the projectile struck.
Russian military attacks on DTEK enrichment factories create serious problems in Ukraine's energy sector, as this threatens coal supplies to Ukrainian thermal power plants. Consequently, this may affect electricity supply in the country and worsen the situation in the energy infrastructure.
