Russian Strike on Lviv Leaves Dozens Injured and Heritage Site in Ruins
According to Novyny.live: On March 24, 2023, Russian military forces launched a drone assault on the city of Lviv, resulting in widespread destruction, damage to a national architectural monument, and multiple casualties. As of 5:44 PM local time, 13 people had been reported wounded and were receiving treatment at hospitals across the city.
Among the structures hit was the Bernardine Monastery Ensemble, a nationally recognized architectural heritage site. The complex caught fire, underscoring the severity of the attack. Additional strikes were recorded on critical infrastructure facilities in the Komarnivska and Dobrosynsko-Magerivska communities.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi stated: 'The injured have varying degrees of trauma. Medical staff are currently providing them with all necessary care.'
Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, also confirmed that a monument of national architectural significance had been damaged. The incident has sparked deep concern among local residents and highlights the ongoing threat posed by military aggression.
