Drone Attack in Sumy Region
According to TSN.ua: A Russian drone hit a local passenger train traveling from Smorodyne to Vorozhba in Ukraine's Sumy region on March 14. The strike occurred near the village of Novoselytsia in the Verkhnyosyrovatska community. No casualties were reported, and all passengers aboard the train were safely evacuated.
Train Route Adjustments
In response to this attack, Ukraine's national railway operator, Ukrzaliznytsia, has rerouted several trains and canceled services across the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This incident follows heightened tensions, as Russian forces also targeted a railway station in Sumy Oblast on March 12.
Ongoing Russian strikes on railway infrastructure continue to raise public concern and demand swift action from transport authorities. Ukrzaliznytsia is prioritizing passenger safety and adjusting its operations to address evolving threats.
This event underscores the persistent danger that aerial attacks pose to civilian transport in Ukraine, particularly in border areas.
The route modifications highlight how transport companies must adapt to new security challenges arising from the war. Ensuring passenger safety remains a top priority amid the country's current situation.
