According to ТСН: French President Emmanuel Macron held closed consultations at the Élysée Palace with representatives of parliamentary parties, discussing the possible deployment of French troops in Ukraine after a peace agreement with Russia is reached.

In the meeting, in addition to Macron, Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, Armed Forces Minister Sébastien Lecornu, Chief of Staff Fabien Mandon, as well as leaders of parliamentary groups and heads of foreign affairs and defense committees participated.

Macron emphasized that French troops 'will not be on the front lines' and will perform the functions of deterrence units to support the Ukrainian army.
