According to Novyny.live: A man from Izmail is suspected of defrauding seven people by taking payments for firewood he never delivered, causing total losses exceeding 30,000 hryvnias. According to law enforcement, the 44-year-old suspect, who has several prior convictions, is now in custody.
Details of the Fraudulent Scheme
The victims transferred between 4,000 and 4,600 hryvnias each, depending on the order size, with the advertised price ranging from 2,000 to 2,500 hryvnias per cubic meter. This scam inflicted significant financial harm on the buyers. The suspect is currently being held in a pre-trial detention center awaiting further court proceedings.
Authorities have formally notified the man of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
