Samsung unveils 25W wireless charger: what is known about the new product.
According to ТСН: Samsung is preparing a new wireless charging device that may be announced alongside the flagship Galaxy S26 lineup in 2026. The new device with model number EP-P2900 will be capable of delivering 25W of power, significantly surpassing Samsung's current maximum of 15W.
This development is reported by the German portal WinFuture, citing data from several retailers.
Magnetic charging
The new device is likely to be called the Samsung Magnetic Wireless Charger, as magnets are mentioned in the documentation. This will allow the charging station to be attached to the back of the smartphone, similar to the MagSafe system in competitors' devices. It is expected that due to the use of magnets and the Qi2 standard, the device will be round and will have a dark grey color. The charging station will be able to charge not only Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series smartphones but also Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds.
Charging speed
Although the power is stated to be at 25W, it remains unclear whether all Galaxy S26 models will be able to take advantage of this maximum. It is noted that the 25W speed will likely only be available for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the base model and Plus may remain at 15W. A similar trend is observed in the case of wired charging:
Galaxy S26 Ultra — expected support up to 60W (with Super Fast Charging 3.0 technology).
Galaxy S26 Plus — support up to 45W.
Base Galaxy S26 — limited to 25W.
Deciding on the choice of a new smartphone is always a challenging task due to the wide assortment — from the latest folding models to ordinary 'dumbphones'. Experts analyze data to identify the most and least reliable brands based on the frequency of malfunctions.
Just a few decades ago, BlackBerry phones and answering machines for landlines were commonplace in every office and home. Today, these gadgets have long become outdated, but it turns out they can be a 'gold mine' for those who store them in their attic.
Samsung continues to enhance its technologies, and the new wireless charging device is another step towards increasing convenience for users. The Galaxy S26 model is set to be an important milestone in the company's development, especially considering the expectations regarding charging speed. The relevance of the new market offerings is also confirmed by the growing competition among smartphone manufacturers.Read also
