The SBU named the Russian commander involved in the killing of civilians in Kup'yansk.
According to inkorr.com: The Security Service of Ukraine has identified the military official of the Russian Federation who participated in the killing of three civilians in the city of Kup'yansk, Kharkiv region, on October 2, 2025. This is Andriy Syrotyuk, commander of the 121st regiment of the 68th motorized rifle division of the 6th general army of the Russian Federation, reports Glavkom, citing the SBU.
The essence of the crime
According to investigation data, this crime was committed to intimidate the local population in the Azov region. The occupiers disguised themselves in civilian clothes and, under the cover of local residents, approached the outskirts of the city. They opened fire on two men and a woman who were trying to leave Kup'yansk and travel deeper into Ukraine.
Criminal qualification of the crime
Investigators classified this act under part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes resulting in death).
Comprehensive documentation and evidence collection of this crime continues for the purpose of forwarding materials to the International Criminal Court. Comprehensive measures are being conducted under the guidance of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.

As a result of the investigation, it was established that the person who killed three civilians in Kup'yansk was a member of the military of the Russian Federation.
