Ukraine's Security Service Seeks New Recruits Through Open Hiring.
Recruitment Drive at Ukraine's Security Service
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has clarified it is not conducting a general mobilization, but is actively recruiting new personnel through open vacancies. This allows interested individuals to apply for posted positions or pursue the necessary education to qualify for service. The SBU continues to be a critical institution for Ukraine's national defense and internal security.
To join the SBU, candidates must meet specific educational requirements and pass a multi-stage selection process. Current openings listed on the official SBU website include positions for:
- Analysts
- IT specialists
- Drivers
- Communications specialists
- Translators
- Cybersecurity experts
Applicants must undergo polygraph testing, a special background check, and a military medical commission.
Officer Training Programs
Officers for the SBU are trained at the National Academy of the SBU in Kyiv. The training program lasts several years, after which graduates receive the rank of lieutenant. Volunteers also have the option to choose their branch of service, specialty, and specific brigade. Service members with three or more children are eligible for discharge from duty.
The SBU's announcement regarding the absence of mobilization may indicate a degree of stabilization, though the service still requires new personnel to fulfill its functions. The open vacancies, particularly in IT and analysis, reflect modern security needs where technology plays a crucial role. Recruiting new specialists is expected to enhance the SBU's effectiveness in addressing technological challenges and threats to Ukraine's security.
