Viktor Sivkovych's Criminal Scheme

According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), and the Prosecutor General's Office have uncovered new evidence of illegal activity by Viktor Sivkovych, linked to the unlawful takeover of state-owned property in Kyiv. The scheme involved an unfinished complex of the Republican Clinical Hospital and a 21.36-hectare land plot, with an estimated value of around 300 million Ukrainian hryvnias (approximately $3.6 million). This case highlights ongoing efforts to crack down on high-level corruption in Ukraine's healthcare and real estate sectors.

According to investigators, Sivkovych and his accomplices orchestrated a plan to seize the state property between 2006 and 2021. As part of this scheme, a contractor signed a deal worth 30 million hryvnias to adjust the project design and complete the medical complex's construction. Sivkovych and two business partners have now been formally notified of suspicion for fraud on an especially large scale.

Charges and Legal Violations

Additionally, on July 23, 2022, it was reported that Sivkovych—currently evading authorities in Russia—was also charged with high treason. These new findings point to serious offenses that demand thorough investigation and further legal action by law enforcement agencies.

The actions of law enforcement against Viktor Sivkovych signal a stepped-up campaign to combat corruption and illegal appropriation of state assets in Ukraine.

Since Sivkovych is hiding abroad, this could complicate his arrest and prosecution. It is crucial for authorities to continue identifying and documenting such crimes to prevent further abuses involving state property.
