The SBU on the attacks on the Crimean Bridge: how and why the artery of occupation was destroyed.
According to inkorr.com: On the morning of October 8, 2022, an important event took place: the Security Service of Ukraine struck the Crimean Bridge, which became a symbol of occupation by the Kremlin. The explosion, with a power of 21 tons of TNT, turned the bridge into an emergency construction, making it impossible to supply weapons to southern Ukraine.
The Security Service also conducted attacks on the bridge in 2023 and 2025, using underwater explosive devices and marine drones. SBU Head Vasyl Maliuk noted that these actions are a response to the occupation of Crimea, a territory that belongs to Ukraine.
God loves the Trinity, and the SBU always sees its plans through to the end and never repeats itself. ... The Crimean Bridge is an absolutely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops. Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestations of occupation will receive our harsh response.
Destruction of the bridge and SBU plans
The attack on the Crimean Bridge in 2022 resulted in serious damage, halting its use for supplies. It was only in July 2023 that the Security Service acknowledged its involvement in this event. By using 21 tons of hexogen, concealed in explosives, the SBU ensured inadequate detection at checkpoints.
The Security Service of Ukraine is actively responding to the occupation of Crimea, considering the bridge and the peninsula as an integral part of its territory. It is ready to take tough measures to protect its territorial integrity.
