'Not yet convinced': Trump was struck by the statement about China's involvement in the war against Ukraine.
U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, made a statement regarding the presence of Chinese military personnel in the conflict in Ukraine.
According to 'Wave', Volker made this statement during a speech at Georgetown University, reports the Independent.
According to Volker, Chinese soldiers who have been captured in Ukraine are likely just 'mercenaries or volunteers'. He also noted that there is no confirmation yet that Beijing sent them to war.
Trump's special representative emphasized that military reports always follow the rule: the first report is always incorrect. Thus, he advises waiting and seeing what happens. Perhaps these soldiers are volunteers, Volker remarked.
Recall that on April 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were holding two Chinese citizens captive in the Donetsk region. Six Chinese citizens participated in the clashes. Beijing has commented on this report.
