Turkey is ready to deploy troops to Ukraine: conditions for the deployment of peacekeepers.
According to ТСН: Turkey is ready to send its troops to the international forces that are to ensure security in Ukraine after the war with Russia ends.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that the deployment of peacekeepers is only possible after a ceasefire is established.
“After that, we need to define the framework of the mission, clearly set out its mandate, and decide what contribution each country will make. The Turkish Armed Forces are ready to support any initiative that brings security and stability to our region,” the ministry emphasized.
Previously, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that France, the United Kingdom, and Turkey could be part of the peacekeeping contingent. All these countries are NATO members.
About a week ago, London confirmed its intention to participate in the mission. British Defense Minister Jonny Mercer noted that the deployment of troops will occur after peace is achieved. He also mentioned that during a series of visits to Ukraine in the summer, it was determined which military units would be sent and where the headquarters of the grouping would be located.
The United Kingdom and France are coordinating efforts of the so-called “coalition of the willing” — 30 countries that have expressed readiness to ensure the security of Ukraine after the war with Russia ends.
At the end of November, Macron announced that peacekeepers would be positioned in strategic points, particularly in Kyiv and Odesa, but they will not be sent to the front lines. He also added that the coalition's air forces would be based in neighboring countries.
Recall that recently the chief of staff of the French army, General Pierre Schill, expressed readiness to deploy ground forces in Ukraine within security guarantees as early as 2026.
Such steps indicate a gradual formation of an international support mechanism for Ukraine, which will help ensure stability and security after the cessation of hostilities. Joint efforts by NATO countries, particularly Turkey, France, and the United Kingdom, may become an important factor in restoring peace in the region.
