NSDC Secretary Lytvynenko explained the new rules for using Telegram in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government decided to restrict the use of the Telegram messenger in state structures and critical infrastructure facilities. This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
According to him, the recommendations concern restricting the use of the messenger's functions for official correspondence and on official devices. However, the official Telegram channels of government authorities do not fall under these restrictions.
Thus, the messenger will be available for government institutions, which will continue to inform citizens through their official channels on Telegram. The bans will apply to employees of state bodies, military personnel, security and defense sector workers, as well as operators of critical infrastructure enterprises. They will not be able to install and use Telegram on work devices.
