NSDC Secretary revealed how many people Ukraine plans to mobilize to the Defense Forces.
According to the statement by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Lytvynenko declared that another 160,000 people are planned to be mobilized to the Defense Forces. However, a total of 1,050,000 citizens have already been conscripted into the army. According to Lytvynenko, the mobilization of an additional 160,000 people will allow military units to be staffed up to 85%.
Last week, 853 Ukrainians turned to recruitment centers, and 197 of them have already begun serving in the Defense Forces. Additionally, within the framework of the "Reserv+" application, a recruitment service was launched, which helps Ukrainians find a suitable position in the army. Thanks to the mentioned service in collaboration with Lobby X, Ukrainians are offered the largest list of open positions in the Defense Forces, which includes over 4,000 positions.
Furthermore, the "Diia" application has introduced the option to join the Drone Army. After submitting an application, a person can join the unit they selected and undergo basic military training with the already signed contract. Suitability for service is immediately confirmed at the application submission stage, so there is no need to undergo the All-Ukrainian medical commission.
Extension of martial law and general mobilization
The Verkhovna Rada approved laws №12152 and №12151 to extend martial law and general mobilization for 90 days. After the president's signature, martial law and general mobilization will be extended until February 7, 2025. This is already the 13th vote to extend martial law since the Russian invasion.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved significant changes to enhance military accounting and monitor legal violations. Now, territorial recruitment centers, the Security Service of Ukraine, intelligence agencies, and the National Police will exchange data through an electronic system.
