Serhiy Palychuk, a defender, was killed on January 5, 2024, in the village of Bohdanivka in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region. His parents moved to the Chernivtsi region when he was young, and later settled in the Zaporizhzhia region. Serhiy served in Kazakhstan, and with the onset of the war, he decided to become a volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among his comrades, his call sign was 'Okun', reflecting his passion for fishing.
Serhiy's death occurred as a result of a drone strike on a machine gun nest. He passed away just days before his 53rd birthday. He left behind a wife, a son, four daughters, and five grandchildren.
A man with a big heart. A friend who always came to the aid of those in need. The soul of the company. This is how Serhiy Palychuk is remembered by his family. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he fulfilled his duty as a citizen and patriot with honor and dignity.
'Hlavkom' joins in a moment of silence, expressing respect for the fallen soldiers and civilians who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine's freedom. We honor all heroes who died due to the war with Russian occupiers.
