23-year-old sergeant Sergiy Penyuk, call sign 'Zyat', died on November 1, 2023, near the village of Ivanivske in Donetsk. This information was reported by 'Glavkom', citing the Chernivtsi Regional Council.

The biography of the fallen hero

Sergiy Serhiyovych Penyuk was born on July 31, 2000, in the village of Hlyboka, Chernivtsi region. Losing his father at the age of 16, he became a support for his younger brother. Sergiy's mother describes him as honest, stubborn, and a bright young man who always supported those in need.

Life and military path

Sergiy graduated from a vocational college with a specialty in 'Finance, Banking, and Insurance' and dreamed of his own auto service station. In 2019, he joined the State Border Guard Service, and since May 2022, he served as a machine gun driver on the front lines.

Sergiy spent a long time in difficult conditions, witnessing his comrades fall - this was his personal tragedy.

On November 1, 2023, while performing a combat mission, he died from sniper fire. His body remained on the battlefield, and before his death, he was able to see his mother, brother, grandmother, and grandfather.

Engagement with the enemy should not cost Ukrainian soldiers their lives. 'Glavkom' joins the silent tribute to all the fallen heroes who gave their lives for an independent Ukraine. Eternal memory to all Ukrainians who became victims of Russian aggression.
