About Dmytro Serbin

Dmytro Serbin, a six-time champion of Ukraine in American football and a medical sergeant, died for Ukraine three years ago, on October 25, 2022, in Luhansk region.

Born on May 7, 1973, in Kyiv, he graduated from medical school No. 2 and the National Medical University. After that, he worked as a cardiologist-resuscitator. As an athlete, Dmytro earned numerous awards in American football and held qualifications as a sports medicine doctor, helping prepare athletes for the Olympic Games. During the Russian aggression, he chose a military path, joining the National Guard of Ukraine under the callsign Magic doc, and died in the combat zone.

The memory of the hero is honored all over Ukraine, and the authors of the documentary project NFL 360 paid attention to Ukrainian American football players who became defenders of the country. Dmytro Serbin was posthumously awarded the Order of “For Courage” of the III degree.
