Continuing Western support for Ukraine – the path to victory, Sikorski said

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski emphasized the need to continue Western support for Ukraine to achieve victory in the war.

He said this in an interview with MSNBC, reports "European Pravda".

Commenting on President Volodymyr Zelensky's expected "victory plan", Sikorski emphasized the importance of providing Kyiv with additional financial aid to develop its own defense industry.

"We must give President Zelensky the means to change Putin's calculations, and the means for this – financial. Ukraine has its own defense industry, which lacks resources and has certain free capacities, and a few billion dollars could greatly help them so that Putin understands that he cannot win," noted the Polish minister.

According to Sikorski, the resolution of the conflict would be the withdrawal of troops from both countries beyond their internationally recognized borders. He added that the war would end when Putin realizes the mistake of the invasion and the impossibility of achieving his goals at an acceptable cost.

"If we do not stop at what has been achieved, this war can be ended by restoring international law and restoring international borders," emphasized Sikorski.

Earlier, U.S. officials reported being informed about Zelensky's "peace plan." According to Bloomberg, this plan envisions inviting Ukraine to join NATO and U.S. commitments to ongoing deliveries of modern weapons. The President of Ukraine noted that the "victory plan" is designed for decisions to be made between October and December 2024.

Recall that Sikorski, amid disagreements with Zelensky, responded whether Poland would continue to support Ukraine.
