Scandal with special school in Ternopil region. Locals are afraid to testify because they are 'intimidated by an oligarch'.
Lawyer Inna Miroshnichenko stated that the land of the Novosilsk Special School in Ternopil region, where numerous violations were previously found, is used by a 'local agro-magnum'. According to her, residents are afraid to testify about violence against the students of the institution due to intimidation by the agro-oligarch. This was reported by Inna Miroshnichenko on her Instagram page.
According to lawyer Inna Miroshnichenko, the man who works as the deputy director of the special school uses land for free, which the institution received from the state. This is 19 hectares of land, which is tax-exempt.
He uses this land almost for free. Therefore, they are interested in having children in the boarding school. He 'controls' the entire 'area'. Most people who were ready to testify are afraid because they have to live there,' said the lawyer. According to her, this school is already gathering people for a rally in Ternopil. Probably, to 'save' the institution's reputation. Miroshnichenko did not name the agricultural worker's full name, but mentioned that his name is Oleg Petrovich.
The lawyer also stated that law enforcement has not been able to confirm cases of violence against children in the Novosilsk Special School. However, the police of Ternopil region denies this.
'Currently, investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings, and appropriate examinations have been appointed,' the press service of the Main Department of the National Police of Ternopil region reported.
The director of the special school, Daria Komenda, confirmed that a local entrepreneur uses the institution's land. She noted that this agricultural worker cooperates with many people but has never threatened any of them. The director also stated that the land is 'not suitable for growing anything' for them. According to Komenda, no farmer wanted to process it except for this agricultural worker. She claims that there is no violence in the institution, but the administration intends to file a lawsuit.
Let us remind you that the monitoring group of the Ombudsman's Office conducted an unscheduled visit to one of the institutions for children in the Ternopil region. The inspection revealed numerous violations of the rights of children with special educational needs in one of the special schools. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada's Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets.
According to the ombudsman, the reason for conducting monitoring was a call to the 'hotline' regarding violence against children in the institution. In addition to inadequate conditions for the stay and comprehensive development of the child, alcohol was found in the classroom for culinary lessons, accessible to children.
