Viral Video from Odesa Mobilization Center Prompts Internal Investigation by TCC.
What Happened at the Odesa Regional Mobilization Facility
According to Novyny.live: A video circulating on social media has sparked controversy after its creator alleged that individuals were being held in poor conditions at the Odesa Regional Mobilization Center. The footage claims that some people went up to six days without access to fresh air. However, according to the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC and SP), the location shown in the video is not actually part of the territorial recruitment center.
How the Center's Leadership Responded
The regional joint mobilization center was established by order of the regional military administration. In response to the video’s release, the center’s leadership launched an official internal investigation to thoroughly and objectively examine the circumstances, including compliance with internal regulations and the actual state of living conditions at the facility.
As stated by the Odesa Regional TCC and SP,
“to ensure a comprehensive and objective clarification of all circumstances of the incident, as well as to verify adherence to internal procedures and the real status of living conditions at the center, the leadership has immediately initiated an internal investigation.”
Regarding the video’s creator, authorities reported that this individual had previously faced criminal charges for a serious offense and has severe mental health disorders. He was deemed unfit for service in combat units. The Odesa TCC also noted that men aged 50 and older are not assigned to combat roles, a detail that may provide context to the situation shown in the video.
These facts indicate that relevant authorities have the situation under control and are conducting a detailed review.
This incident highlights the critical need for oversight of detention conditions in military centers, especially during wartime. The internal investigation launched in response to the video could serve as an important step toward ensuring proper conditions for recruits. Additionally, the revelation of the video creator’s background may point to potential issues within the military selection and training system.
