Situation with Zaporizhzhia NPP and Donbas
According to ТСН: During the latest rounds of negotiations, issues concerning the Zaporizhzhia NPP and the situation in Donbas were discussed, but final agreements have not yet been reached.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, reported that currently
“So far, no agreements have been reached. These issues were raised.”
Zelensky emphasized that Zaporizhzhia NPP is still under the control of invaders and is in a dangerous condition.
“This is our station. The Russians certainly believe that it is their station because they occupied it. They do not recognize either the rules or the law.”
The President also noted that the United States proposed a 'compromise' regarding the division of the station into three parts.
“I told them that I consider this unfair. The issue is not only that this is our station, but also access to it, safety, water, electricity. Our people work there and should work.”
Additionally, Zelensky emphasized the need to restore the dam in the occupied territories, which was destroyed by Russian military.
“This is a lot of money, and it needs to be agreed upon who will restore the station and the dam. There are more questions than answers.”
Also, the President noted that Putin is not interested in ending the war, and Russia's ability to continue military actions depends on the sanctions and diplomatic pressure from partners, including the United States. Zelensky emphasized that Russia's economy will not withstand the war at previous levels if sanctions remain effective.
The situation around Zaporizhzhia NPP and in Donbas remains tense, and security issues remain at the center of discussions. The further development of events depends on international support for Ukraine and the necessary actions to ensure stability in the region.
