What will the colonization of Mars bring to humanity? Elon Musk expressed an opinion.
Elon Musk: Mars is 'insurance for the survival' of humanity
SpaceX founder Elon Musk emphasized that the colonization of Mars is crucial for preserving collective life on Earth. He noted that the increasing solar activity will lead to the destruction of all life on the planet, thus establishing a civilization on other planets is a necessity. Musk also stated the possibility of landing a human on Mars as early as 2029.
“Mars is insurance for our collective survival. Eventually, all life on Earth will be destroyed by the sun. The sun is gradually expanding, and at some point, we really need to become a multiplanetary civilization because Earth will be scorched,”- a quote from Elon Musk.
It was reported that initially The Wall Street Journal informed that Musk is working on improvements in NASA's programs and funding. These funds are planned to be used for studying Mars and further colonizing the planet.
