Starting from October 2025, the conditions for basic social assistance are changing: who will receive 4,500 hryvnias.
Starting from July 1, 2025, a part of Ukrainians will receive basic social assistance from the state. The amount of payments is 4,500 hryvnias per month, but starting in October, the conditions for providing financial support will change somewhat.
The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine reported that basic social assistance is received by families who are entitled to state social assistance for low-income families, assistance for children of single mothers, as well as families raising many children. Support is also provided to children whose parents do not pay alimony or cannot support the child.
Who currently receives the payment
According to information from the PFU, the payment of basic social assistance is assigned to one person in the family who has submitted an application. The family includes the husband, wife, children studying full-time at educational institutions, unemployed parents, persons with disabilities, and other categories of citizens in need of support.
What will change in the fall
Starting from October 2025, the basic social assistance program will be expanded. This support will be available to other groups of citizens who also need state assistance due to low material and social status. There will also be the possibility of receiving financial support for IDPs and their families through the Social Protection Fund.
In August, the Pension Fund of Ukraine reminds citizens about the possibility of losing part of their pension payments and explains how to avoid this. This is related to important changes in the social security system.
In July 2025, the payment of basic social assistance began for Ukrainians who found themselves in difficult life circumstances. Starting in October, this program will be expanded, providing the opportunity to receive support for a larger number of citizens in need of state assistance.
