Ukrainians without pension experience to receive social assistance: who will get payments

The Ukrainian pension system is characterized by complexity and demanding requirements for insurance experience. Therefore, many people who have reached retirement age may face the problem of not having the right to a pension due to insufficient work experience. However, for such individuals, social assistance is provided, which is a selective solution.

Who can count on social assistance

So, if a person does not meet the criteria for obtaining a pension due to lack of sufficient experience, they have the right to social assistance or 'social pension'. This option is available to citizens aged 65 and older who do not receive a pension, are disabled, or belong to the category of low-income individuals. Detailed conditions for receiving such assistance are established by government resolution No. 261.

What sizes of assistance are provided

The amount of social assistance depends on the category and status of the individual. For example, the minimum subsistence level for disabled persons of group I is 100%, for disabled persons of group II - 80%, for disabled persons of group III - 60%, for clergymen - 50%, and for citizens aged 65 and older - 30% of the minimum subsistence level.

It should be noted that there are various targeted forms of assistance available in Ukraine for citizens who cannot receive a pension due to insufficient experience. This is an important support for elderly people who find themselves in a difficult life situation.
