Social Service Will Check All Ukrainian Institutions Where Children Live: Reason.
National Social Service will conduct checks in all institutions where children live round the clock, with the aim of identifying possible facts of violence against them or violations of other rights.
Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovych decided to conduct checks in all institutions where children live round the clock, with the aim of identifying possible facts of violence or violations of other children's rights. This decision was made after information about a rehabilitation center in Lviv region.
“For this purpose, the service has developed a special questionnaire that will help identify violations without harming the feelings of children. In addition, I want to emphasize that it is best if all children in Ukraine, even with special educational needs, can study near their homes and return home every evening”, - the statement reads.
Regarding the special educational needs of children, Zholnovych noted that currently children have to study in special schools, the number of which is limited. This complicates parents' constant access to them:
“It is clear that it is impossible to get to such schools daily, so we need classes in general schools rather than separate institutions. Then parents can choose an educational institution near their home”.
The minister also called for increasing the number of family forms of upbringing in communities and developing inclusive classes in general schools so that parents do not have to turn to distant educational institutions.
Let us remind you that Dmytro Lubinets reported about abuse of children in a rehabilitation center in Lviv region. This center houses the most vulnerable categories of orphans: children deprived of parental care; those who are in difficult life circumstances; children with special educational needs.
After the incident, the Office of the Prosecutor General initiated criminal proceedings.
