German Chancellor Olaf Scholz plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his visit to New York.
This was reported by the ntv channel, citing sources in the German government.
According to government sources, in addition to meeting with the Ukrainian leader, Scholz also plans to hold talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
A high-ranking German government official, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "We want to send a signal in New York that this conflict, the Russian war of aggression, remains on the agenda".
At the same time, it became known that Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to present a "victory plan" in the defensive struggle against Russian occupiers during his visit to the United States. A meeting between the Ukrainian president and the American leader Joe Biden is scheduled for Thursday in Washington.
It was previously reported that Zelenskyy will visit the United States next week, where he plans to introduce his "victory plan" not only to the incumbent President Joe Biden, but also to candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
