The government responded to the demand for an annual reward for each year of war: what will change for the military

According to ТСН: The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, reported the need to attract significant financial resources for the implementation of an annual progressive reward for each year of military service.

She noted that the government understands the importance of motivation for service in the army and considers this issue a priority. However, the implementation of the model proposed in the electronic petition will require a comprehensive approach and consideration of the financial capabilities of the state.

"The government recognizes the need to improve the motivational factors for citizens of Ukraine to serve in the military. At the same time, this issue is one of its priority tasks," Svyrydenko noted.

The Prime Minister also reminded that the Ministry of Defense is already working on a new contract model for military service, which provides for an increase in financial support for servicemen who sign new contracts. Currently, the process of legislative regulation of this issue is ongoing.

Moreover, the response mentions the introduced system of state awards, in particular the "Cross of Military Merit," which is awarded to soldiers for courage and heroism. Those awarded this distinction receive a special status and a monthly payment of 12,000 UAH in 2025.

Servicemen participating in combat operations also receive additional incentives ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 UAH per month.

Svyrydenko assured that the government supports a fair assessment of the contribution of every defender of Ukraine. However, future decisions will be made taking into account the priorities of the security and defense sector as well as real budgetary capabilities.

In addition, it became known about the introduction of compensation for people with disabilities for the retrofitting of vehicles — they will be able to receive up to 50,000 UAH from the state for the adaptation of their cars.

Therefore, the government of Ukraine is actively working to improve the conditions of service in the Armed Forces and support the military, which is an important step in ensuring the country's effective defense capability. The challenges related to finances require a comprehensive approach and careful balancing of the needs of the defense sector and the possibilities of the budget. This confirms the significance of initiatives that will take into account the real needs of servicemen. Thus, the government's efforts are directed towards creating a support system that will recognize and reward the defenders of the country.
